January 2010 feeling inspired?! Stand up and stand out! (In a good way)

We usually hear people say, "fashion is always repeating itself" however I beg to differ I feel fashion encourages variety and spontaneity! Whilst researching for this particular piece I came across a unique lady who possesses class, sophistication and most importantly style to name a few! *smiles* I will refer to her in detail further on, as I feel there is a lot to observe and learn about her style.

Well 2009 we saw what I would describe as "fashion cloning" everyone wore similar or even the same item of clothing's, emulating mannequins is what I would say, this is in fact was very sad and highly annoying, because you can be truly creative if you dare to incorporate variety in your wardrobe, playing it safe and conforming is boring....it's time to personalise your style.

You can reflect who you are through your clothes and even if you don't like bright colours, that doesn't matter, you can make an all black outfit look less dull if you add some cool, chic accessories.

Creativity is key in 2010, whether it be with your accessories: make-up, belts, brooches, hats, shoes, bags and jewellery to name a few. A strong example of someone who oozes creativity and style is Shala Monroque; she is being labelled "girl of the month" (pictured above) she is a fashion writer and editor- one of the key elements in her style is simplicity with a touch of creativity, she doesn't over do any outfit she wears.

I feel there is much to acquire from Shala, she takes what I would describe as "sensible risks". Although most of her pieces are designer you don't have to buy a Herve Leger dress or Jimmy Choos, it's vital to work with what you have and respect your bank balance at the same time.(wouldn't want anyone going to extreme measures for designer goods) High street clothes can also be made to look chic and elegant.

Like I mentioned in the previous article, we are all individuals and thus have different body shapes, sizes etc. It is vital to discover what works best for you.

So 2010 don't play it safe with your fashion ideas and buys, dare to be a 'tad' bit different and you never know someone could be admiring you and you might even inspire someone else! *big smile*
